Hope. It's a four letter word. It quite often proves itself to be an utter bastard. Hope and disappointment go hand and hand, and, yet, it continues to spring eternal, ad nauseum. This song is about hope's relentlessness - and how we dream that, perhaps, this time, maybe this time, hope won't break its promise to us and let us down...again. It was inspired by a photo taken by my friend and fellow musician, Kevin Hewick. The photo, and Kevin's story that went along with the image he shared with me, worked a kind of alchemy, out of which this track materialised.
