Ink on paper These lines tell a story Words spilled on the page of a life What will you read here? Between the covers of my book What will your eyes see If you dare to take a look? Ohhhhhhh 'Cause if a picture paints so many words One word can make a million images in the mind So, what will you find? What will you read here? Your fingers on my spine... What kind of marks will you leave behind? And, what'll you feel here? Like braille to the blind Oh, what will you find?

Burned 02:29
Stunned again You entrance me But I've learned I must turn away Lest I be burned Lest I be burned You are a flame A blinding brightness Chanting out my name A summons to another doom Passion I can't contain My heart is maimed I drag myself along I need to get away Before it is too late Before another wound I cannot bear Is sustained You are a flame A blinding brightness Chanting out my name A summons to another doom Passion I can't contain Passion I can't restrain

I thought I saw the future wrapped in shades of gold Promises half whispered, stories yet untold Once upon a moment I was far too high to fall Under moonlight by the Bridge at Abermaw I tried to bottle lightening, I only burned my hands I tried to command the waves, but they still reached the land Once upon a moment I believed I could be more Under moonlight by the Bridge at Abermaw I shouldn't get downhearted, most don't make the grade I build a wall of reason, but it cuts me just the same Once upon a moment there's a fragrance I recall Under moonlight by the bridge at Abermaw Fragments reassemble to a benchmark I forget The elephants of memory come shot through with regret If only I could work that alchemy... Why try to explain it? You had to be there When Van sang 'It stoned me', well, I knew what he meant Once upon a moment I am who I was before Under moonlight by the bridge at Abermaw

I'm tangled up in seaweed dreams Saltwater running from my eyes I taste it on my word-stained lips Where dragons wake and will not lie Where dragons wake and will not lie You hold me tight in seaweed dreams Hold me for a moment more To taste the salt and sweet alike Before we're washed up on the shore Before we're washed up on the shore Run your fingers through my hair Play me like I'm your guitar We'll leave our echo in the sand And we'll leave our footprints in each other's hearts You hold me tight in seaweed dreams Hold me for a moment more To taste the salt and sweet alike Before we're washed up on the shore Before we're washed up on the shore Before we're all washed up Run your fingers through my hair Play me like I'm your guitar We'll leave our echo in the sand And we'll leave our footprints in each other's hearts Yes, we'll leave footprints in each other's hearts We're in each other's hearts Saltwater running, from my eyes Saltwater running in these dreams of mine I will see you in my seaweed dreams You are mine in these seaweed dreams

Music so sweet From a heart that is pure Life's the disease You are my cure You're my angel And, I don't care How many times you fall As long as you're there When I call You're my angel after all My feet of clay Weigh and wear me down You carry me Just by being a around You're my angel And, I don't care How many times you fall As long as you're there When I call You're my angel after all

People use that word 'forever' like they know what it means They say it carelessly They use it flippantly And, time it goes so fast and moves so slow And, I can't promise you one more day I have eternity chasing me So, I stole your heart and I ran away And, I'll keep on running, I'll keep on running Save the world again, and I'll be back yesterday And, I'll keep on running, I'll keep on running Until eternity catches me Time Time And, time it goes so fast and moves so slow And, I can't promise you one more day I'd give you a lifetime... So, I stole your heart and I ran away And, I'll keep on running, I'll keep on running Save the world again (and again), and I'll be back yesterday And, I'll keep on running, I'll keep on running Until eternity catches me Until eternity catches me Until eternity Ohhh....

One for sorrow, so they say But, two won't guarantee you any joy Three might bring a girl so fair Four is four a handsome boy Five is for bright silver shine Six is for the gleam of gold Seven are the secret things my heart has never ever told Magpie, magpie Black and white and blue Magpie, Magpie I wish that I could fly away with you Eight is for a wish And oh, how I wish Nine would mean the touch of your lips Ten is for that bird once glimpsed A herald that is never to be missed, He's a herald that is never to be missed Magpie, magpie Black and white and blue Magpie, Magpie I wish that I could fly away with you

The Hunted 03:42
Pinpoints of light The darkness is freckled I welcome the night Into my soul This is how I take flight On wings of silence All of my might Resides in the shadows I am the hunter (and you will fall) You are the hunted (and you will fall) I am the hunter (and you will fall) You are the hunted (and you will fall) And you will fall to me You will fall to me You will fall To me And this world is mine I am the master All of the night Is at my command And my eyes are sharp You cannot escape them Here in the dark This instinct and desire I am the hunter (and you will fall) You are the hunted (and you will fall) I am the hunter (and you will fall) You are the hunted (and you will fall) And you will fall to me You will fall to me You will fall To me

Did you like the way your name fit in my mouth The way my eyes beheld your face Whose meadow do you visit now Did I only imagine such a place Nothing but last year's coffee cloud dreams Stories we shared in the open air Castles we built lie in ruins it seems Swallowed all up by the endless despair Am I discarded, no more thought of Companionship is now replaced with silence What once flowered here was kin to love Now desolation takes root in your absence Nothing but last year's coffee cloud dreams Stories we shared in the open air Castles we built lie in ruins it seems Swallowed all up by the endless despair Nothing but last year's coffee cloud dreams Stories we shared in the open air Castles we built lie in ruins it seems Swallowed all up by the endless despair Nothing but last year's coffee cloud dreams... That river flows That river bends And on life goes As something ends That river flows That river bends And on life goes (on and on it goes) As something beautiful ends All good things end

Experience 02:58
I've never seen myself Only reflections And I've never much liked Most of what I've seen Some of us have practiced social distancing for years Either by choice, or because we were forced to Distance so hard, distance so far Even when it's only a metre or two And, as for society, well, you know Lonely is a word I used to use in crowds, though Lonely is a word I used to use in crowds Experience is just a polite word for pain! Here I am again in isolation Reaching out to you Like I've done for years With my worn out bag of words And more than my fair share of tears And experience, of course

about

I, Autumnus, the new album release from Autumn Dawn Leader, is a deeply emotion-stirring journey within a swirling mix of folk(ish) and classical(ish) style. It was borne out of the artist’s need to scream at life, and connect with dreams that have passed her by, whilst still creating a beautiful, resonating artwork. Not exactly what one would call ‘a concept album’ and, yet, there is a definite fluidity and cohesive thread running throughout the whole of the album; within its stratosphere are everything from magpies to Timelords to seaweed. All of the songs were written exclusively by Autumn, with the exception of the folkiest song on the album, The Bridge At Abermaw, which was co-written with fellow Leicestershire singer-songwriter Andy Griffiths. I, Autumnus combines soaring beauty with gritty rawness, pain with pleasure, fantasy with reality. While all previous releases from ADL have been of an extremely personal nature, this album may, at once, be the most personal of all, but also giving more space for others to relate than ever before.
